Vale Kerry Paki.

Last Friday I had almost completed a newsletter on how Spring has sprung early and that we were about to see the first test of the market with increased supply etc. etc.

I couldn’t finish that piece because I was in complete shock after hearing that a very dear friend Kerry Paki had passed away suddenly.

As I write this I’m still in disbelief and I’ve spent much of the last few days wondering if this is an appropriate forum to speak about something so personal.

I have come to the conclusion that it would be inappropriate for me to not pay tribute here.  After each newsletter Kerry would often ring or email me providing very honest feedback…'you went too far DM' was my favourite critique.

For the last twelve years Kerry has been a trusted advisor, moral compass but above all else a true friend. Thankfully, over this time I haven’t had too many battles to fight but with the few that I have she was always by my side. Completely loyal and completely honest, always. Every crazy idea I had went through KP, her unbridled laughter was often a sign it was crazier than I thought.

Attempting to describe how special Kerry was in a few short words would diminish what she meant to me and so many others. If you knew her you know exactly what I mean, if you didn’t she was indeed one of the special ones.

This is a tribute, possibly even a prayer of sorts. On behalf of myself and the team I wanted to publicly honour her memory and confirm that our thoughts and prayers are with her loving husband and four beautiful children at this most difficult time.

My life is better because Kerry was in it, I think we would all love a legacy defined as such.

Until next week,
